Krikalev, Sergei Konstantinovich (1957– )

Russian cosmonaut. His space flights include two long residencies as a flight engineer on the Russian space station Mir. His first mission on the station lasted from November 1988 to April 1989 and the second from May 1991 to March 1992. He was also a member of the first resident crew aboard the International Space Station, from October 2000 to March 2001. Krikalev logged more than one year and five months in space, with seven space walks. He joined the Energiya Rocket and Space Complex in 1981, testing space-flight equipment, and was selected as a cosmonaut in 1985.
