Anzio Annie

World War II German railway gun which shelled the Allied beachhead at Anzio at long range.

It was reputed to be kept in a tunnel when not firing so as to preserve it from air attacks. Captured at Civitavecchia, it is now an exhibit at the Aberdeen Proving Ground Museum in Maryland, USA.
