Kuebler-Ross, Elisabeth (1926- )

Swiss-born US psychiatrist. She taught psychiatry at the universities of Colorado and Chicago and began her pioneering research into the experience of dying in 1965. Her publications include On Death and Dying (1969) and Death: The Final Stage (1974). Kuebler-Ross was born in Zürich, Switzerland. She studied at the University of Zürich, gaining her MD in 1957, and emigrated to the USA shortly thereafter.
