Kupper, Annelies (1906–1987)

German soprano. She made her debut in Breslau in 1935. She worked at Hamburg 1940–46 and Munich 1946–61. She appeared at Bayreuth in 1944, as Eva; at Salzburg in The Rape of Lucretia in 1950; and in the title role in the first official production of Strauss's Die Liebe der Danae, in 1952. Other roles included Elsa, Senta, and Chrysothemis, which she sang at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London in 1953.
