Kyaukpyu

Seaport of Rakhine state (formerly Arakan), western Myanmar, at the northern end of Ramree Island. It is the centre of a township of the same name, and trades with Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) and Yangon (Rangoon). Kyaukpyu's harbour extends for many kilometres, but it is rendered dangerous by numerous sunken rocks.
