López de Ayala, Pedro (1332–1407)
| Spanish poet and historian, born at Vitoria. He became chancellor of Castile in 1399 and his chief work, the Crónicas de los reyes de Castilla, is a chronicle of his own period. He also published translations of Boccaccio, Boethius, Livy, and others. |
