L'Engle, Madeleine (1918–2007)

L'Engle was born in New York City. After graduating from Smith College in 1941, she worked in the theatre in New York (1941–47) and then taught school for many years. Sequels to A Wrinkle in Time include A Wind in the Door (1973), A Swiftly Tilting Planet (1978), and Many Waters (1986).
