LSITechnology that enables whole electrical circuits to be etched into a piece of semiconducting material just a few millimetres square. By the late 1960s a complete computer processor could be integrated on a single chip, or integrated circuit, and in 1971 the US electronics company Intel produced the first commercially available microprocessor. Very large-scale integration (VLSI) results in even smaller chips. How to thank TFD for its existence? will manufacture and service LSI Air-Less Metal Separators. Rather, it will examine the idea of using an LSI on the FCS program, attempt to find the pros and cons of the concept, and offer recommendations should the Department of Defense (DOD) decide to implement this methodology on future weapon system acquisitions. As advances in semiconductor process technologies become more complex, time consuming and expensive, the joint development will allow the companies to share burdens and accelerate development, while raising system LSI performance and quality. |
