La Louvière

Town in the province of Hainaut, Belgium, 18 km/11 mi east of Mons; population (2001 est) 76,600. It has collieries, blast furnaces, and stone, lime, and moulding-clay quarries. The chief manufactures are iron, steel, glass, ceramics, and fireproof products.
