Labienus, Titus Atius

Labienus, Titus Atius (c. 100–45 BC)

Roman general and tribune of the plebs 63 BC. He was Julius Caesar's senior lieutenant general in the Gallic War, but on the outbreak of civil war 49 BC he sided with Pompey, came near to defeating Caesar at the Battle of Thapsus 46 BC, and was killed at the Battle of Munda.
