Labroca, Mario (1896-1973)

Italian critic and composer. A pupil of Respighi and Malipiero, he was critic of Il lavoro fascista and L'idea nazionale, superintendent of the Teatro Vitorio Emanuele at Florence, and organizer of the Maggio musicale.

Works

Stabat Mater (1935); Il lamento dei mariti e delle mogli for six voices and small orchestra; symphony for piano and small orchestra; three string quartets; a piano trio; sonata for violin and piano and a suite for violin and piano; songs.
