Ladd, Edwin Fremont (1859–1925)

US educator and politician. As a chemist and president of North Dakota State Agricultural College, he led a statewide campaign for pure food testing. A progressive Republican, he was elected to the US Senate as a representative of North Dakota (1921–25). Ladd was born in Starks, Maine.
