Lady of the Lake, The

Collection of songs by Franz Schubert set to German translations from Scott's poem by P A Storck (1825) and published in 1826 as Op. 52. They are: 1. Ellen's first song, ‘Soldier, Rest!’; 2. Ellen's second song, ‘Huntsman, Rest!’; 3. Ellen's third song, ‘Ave Maria’; 4. Norman's song, ‘The Heath this Night’; and 5. lay of the imprisoned huntsman, ‘My Hawk is Tired’. Op. 52 contains two more poems from Scott's work, ‘Boating Song’ for male chorus and ‘Coronach’ for female chorus.
