LaGrange

City and administrative headquarters of Troup County, western Georgia, 66 km/41 mi north of Columbus; population (2000) 26,000. It is a textile centre, home to Callaway Mills (1900), and has other diversified industries. Tourists are drawn to its old houses and to nearby West Point Lake.

LaGrange College dates to 1831.
