Laguna Beach

City in southwestern California, on the Pacific Ocean, 10 km/6 mi southwest of Laguna Hills and 69 km/43 mi southeast of Los Angeles; population (1990) 23,200. Its beaches have long been popular, and the city is now a growing residential centre.

Its coves, headlands, and relative seclusion made it an artists' colony by the early 20th century.
