Laguna Niguel

City in southwestern California, just southeast of Laguna Beach and 72 km/45 mi southeast of Los Angeles; population (1990) 44,400. Settled largely since the 1970s around Niguel Hill, it is one of the fastest growing middle-class residential communities in southern California.
