Community on the northeast coast of Oahu Island, Hawaii, 40 km/25 mi northwest of Honolulu; population (1990) 5,600. The Polynesian Cultural Centre, with seven recreated historical villages, is a central tourist attraction.

A Mormon temple (1919) and a branch (1955) of Brigham Young University are here.
