Lajtha, László (1892-1963)

Hungarian folk-song expert and composer. He studied at the Music High School at Budapest, specializing in folk music, and joined the folklore department of the National Museum in 1913. He was professor at the Budapest Conservatory 1919-49.

three ballets including Lysistrata (1933) and Capriccio (1944).

Choral

two Masses and other choral works.

Orchestral

ten symphonies (1936-61); violin concerto.

Chamber

ten string quartets and other chamber music; sonatas for violin, cello, and piano.
