Lake Buena Vista

City in central Florida, 24 km/15 mi southwest of Orlando; population (1990) 1,800. It is the gateway to Disney World (opened in 1971), sited to the west of the city.

The Disney complex includes the Epcot Center (‘Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow’), the Magic Kingdom, other theme parks, and resort and retirement complexes. Lake Buena Vista includes additional attractions.
