Lake Elsinore

Lake Elsinore

City in southern California, 32 km/20 mi southeast of Riverside, on the north side of Lake Elsinore; population (1990) 18,300. The city was founded in 1883 and became a popular resort because of the lake and local mineral springs. Some quarrying is carried out in the area.
