Lake Havasu City

City in Mohave County, west-central Arizona, USA; population (2000) 41,900. The city lies on the eastern shore of Havasu Lake. The lake, which forms part of the boundary between Arizona and California, is used for fishing, boating, and water skiing. Another attraction of the city is its clear desert air. The Old London Bridge was transported and reconstructed here in 1971. The city was founded in 1963 as a tourist and retirement resort.

Havasu Lake is one of several elongated lakes created by dams along the Colorado River for irrigation and power.

The Freedom Bridge Foundation said the 8-foot statue, currently in Millbury, will take up residence in Lake Havasu's Veterans Park, according to Today's News-Herald of Lake Havasu City.
