Lallouette, Jean François

    0.02 sec.

Lallouette, Jean François (1651–1728)

French violinist and composer. From 1668 to 1677 he was violinist and conductor at the Paris Opéra, but Jean-Baptiste Lully dismissed him for claiming collaboration in his Isis, which may have been true, for he was said to have often assisted Lully.

He studied violin with Guy Leclerc and composition with Lully. In 1693 he became maître de chapelle at Rouen Cathedral, in 1695 at Notre-Dame at Versailles, and in 1700 at Notre-Dame in Paris.

Works

dramatic interludes and ballets; Masses, motets, Misereres.
