Lancaster County| County in southeastern Pennsylvania, bordered to the west by the Susquehanna River and to the south by Maryland; area 2,466 sq km/952 sq mi; population (1990) 422,800. Its capital is Lancaster. The county is one of the state's richest farming and livestock raising areas, producing a variety of crops, including tobacco and wheat. |
