Lanchester

Village in Durham, England, 13 km/8 mi northwest of Durham city; population (2001) 4,400. In the neighbourhood are remains of a Roman settlement, and Roman relics have been found.

In the 1948 film version of The Big Clock, the Neel character is played deliciously by Elsa Lanchester.
