Landover

Community in central Maryland, 13 km/8 mi northeast of Washington DC; population (1990) 5,100. Largely residential, it also has shopping plazas and the Capital Center (1973) which seats 18,000 and is home to the Washington Bullets (basketball) and Caps (hockey) and a venue for other events.

Landover Hills (population (1990) 2,100) is a separate but adjacent residential town.

February 23, 2006) Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Co-op announced today it is purchasing Giant Food's dairy processing plant in Landover, Md.
The first is four multi-tenanted office buildings on three lots containing 175,703 s/f with-in the Metro East Business Park located in Landover.
A joint venture of Meritage Properties LLC and Buchanan Partners, LLC has acquired MetroPlex I and II, two office buildings containing a total of 293,000 s/f in Landover, Maryland.
