Lanesborough

Lanesborough

Market town and resort in County Longford, Republic of Ireland, at the northern end of Lough Ree on the border with County Roscommon; population (2002, with Bally League, Longford, and Roscommon) 943. A large peat development scheme and peat-burning electric power station operate nearby on the east bank of the River Shannon. The town is a coarse-fishing and barge-cruising centre.

On an island in Lough Ree are the ruins of Inchcleraun monastery.

The Lanesborough is famed for its top class service and from the moment we pulled up outside and the doorman ushered us in, it was clear the reputation is well deserved.
But walk into the Lanesborough Hotel just up from Buckingham Palace and you immediately sense this is the place that's going to give you the opportunity to brag to your friends.
There was no better place to go than the Lanesborough Hotel, in Knightsbridge.
