Lang, Paul Henry (1901–1991)

Hungarian-born US musicologist. In 1924 he went to the University of Paris, France, and four years later to the USA. He became professor of musicology at Columbia University in New York in 1939. In 1945 he was appointed editor of the Musical Quarterly. Among his writings are Music in Western Civilization (1941) and George Frideric Handel (1966).
