Langdon, Harry Philmore

    0.07 sec.

Langdon, Harry Philmore (1884–1944)

US silent-film comedian. With his baby face and unflagging optimism, Langdon's persona was that of the innocent, childlike man grappling with grown-up problems. His career briefly flourished under the guidance of the director Frank Capra, who directed Langdon's three most successful films: The Strong Man (1926), Tramp, Tramp, Tramp (1926), and Long Pants (1927).

Langdon's attempts to direct his own films proved abortive, and after the coming of sound, he was reduced to playing secondary roles in minor productions.
