Langlais, Jean (1907–1991)

French organist and composer. He held several organist's appointments at Paris churches, lastly at Sainte-Clotilde. Blind himself, he taught organ and composition to blind pupils at the Institut des Jeunes Aveugles. His best-known works are for organ, but he also wrote many others.

He was educated at an institute for the blind and studied organ under André Marchal, also blind, later with Marcel Dupré at the Paris Conservatory, where he also studied composition with Paul Dukas.
