Largo Caballero, Francisco (1869–1946)

Spanish politician; leader of the Spanish Socialist Party (PSOE). He became prime minister of the Popular Front government elected in February 1936 and remained in office for the first ten months of the Civil War before being replaced in May 1937 by Juan Negrin (1887–1956).
