Larkhall

Town in South Lanarkshire unitary authority, Scotland, 24 km/15 mi southeast of Glasgow; population (2001) 16,650. Its industries are mainly based on a large estate containing wool, tartan, and aluminium factories, car and lawnmower depots, bleaching works, and a major tailoring business.

The surrounding area is on the west margin of the Clydeside market-gardening and fruit-growing region, which lines the valley of the River Clyde between Lanark and Hamilton.
