Larmore, Jennifer (1958– )

US mezzo-soprano. She studied at Westminster College, Princeton, and in New York. She made her European debut in Nice in 1986, as Mozart's Sesto and is best known for her vivacious performances of Rossini roles – Rosina (which she has sung in Paris, Rome, London (at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden), and elsewhere; Isabella; Adèle, a role she has sung in Turin and Milan; and Arsace, for a recording of Semiramide. She sang Dorabella at the 1993 Salzburg Festival and made her debut at the Wigmore Hall, London in March 1993. Other roles include Monteverdi's Ottavia, Bellini's Romeo, Donna Elvira, and Jane Seymour in Anna Bolena.
