Larsen, Jens Peter (1902–1988)

Danish musicologist. He studied at Copenhagen University and taught there from 1928, becoming professor in 1945. He was organist at Vangede Church 1930–45. He edited several works by Haydn and other composers, and authored Die Haydn-Überlieferung, Die Haydn Kataloge, and Handel's ‘Messiah’. He wrote an entry for Haydn in the New Grove's Dictionary of Music and Musicians (1980).
