US composer. She studied at the University of Minnesota with Dominick Argonto. In 1993 she became artistic director of the Hot Notes Series, giving performances with synthesized sound.

Orchestral

Symphony: Water Music (1985); Piano concerto: ‘Since Armstrong’ (1990); Ghosts of an Old Ceremony, dance (1991); Third Symphony ‘Lyric’ (1991); Marimba concerto (1992).

Oratorio

Coming Forth into Day oratorio (1985).

Vocal

Sonnets from the Portuguese, song cycle for soprano and chamber ensemble (1989); Mary Cassat, for mezzo, trombone, and orchestra (1994).

Chamber

Quartet: Schoenberg, Schenker and Schillinger, for string quartet (1991).
