Site in Chile that is home to the twin 6.5-m/21-ft Magellan reflectors, the 2.5-m/100-in Irénée Du Pont reflector, and the 1-m/39-in Henrietta Swope reflector. It is operated by the Carnegie Institution of Washington, DC, and opened in 1977.
