Laughlin

Community in southern Nevada, on the Colorado River across from Bullhead City, Arizona; population (1990) 4,800. A gambling mecca, it has a riverfront strip of huge casinos, and more hotel rooms than inhabitants.

It was established in the early 1970s, and by the mid-1980s had become one of the largest gambling centres in the USA.
