Lavin, Marilyn

Lavin, Marilyn (1925– )

US art historian. She specialized in Italian Renaissance paintings. Lavin was born Marilyn Aronberg in St Louis, Missouri. She studied at Washington University, St Louis, the Free University of Brussels, Belgium, and New York University, gaining her PhD in 1973. She taught primarily at Princeton University (from 1975). She is married to fellow art historian Irving Lavin.
