Lawrence, Wendy Barrien (1959– )

US astronaut. Two of her three space shuttle flights docked with the Russian space station Mir: the Atlantis mission in September 1997 and the Discovery flight in June 1998 (the final shuttle–Mir docking). She has logged 894 hours in space. Her flight in 2003 was postponed after the Columbia space shuttle disaster that year. Lawrence was selected as an astronaut in 1992.
