Lazzari, Sylvio (1857–1944)

Austro-Italian composer He studied at Innsbruck, Munich, and at the Paris Conservatory, where Franck was one of his teachers. Later in life he belonged to the French school and became a naturalized Frenchman.

Works

operas Amor (Prague, 1898), La Lépreuse (Paris, 1912), Le Sautériot (Chicago, 1918), Melaenis, La Tour de feu (Paris, 1928); incidental music for Goethe's Faust; symphony in E♭ major and orchestral suite in F major; chamber music.
