Le Maistre, Matthieu (c. 1505–1577)

Flemish composer. He succeeded Walther as Kapellmeister to the Saxon court at Dresden in 1554, a post from which he retired with a pension in 1568.

Works

masses, motets; sacred songs in Latin and German, and a setting of the Lutheran catechism in Latin; secular songs in German, etc.
