Leadenhall Market

Market off Cornhill, in the City of London, England. There has been a market on the site since the 14th century; the present building was erected in 1881 by Horace Jones (1819–87). The market sells poultry and fish as well as some grocery and greengrocery.

Leadenhall Street and Market take their name from a lead-roofed hall, which formerly belonged to the 13th-century nobleman Hugh Neville (died 1222) and was presented to the City in 1445 by Simon Eyre, a draper who became lord mayor.

I can buy new-laid eggs in Leadenhall Market, any morning before breakfast; and as to flowers, it's worth a run upstairs to smell my mignonette, or to see the double wallflower in the back-attic window, at No.
