Lederer, Jerome

Lederer, Jerome (1902–2004)

US aerospace engineer. In 1940 he became director of the safety bureau of the Civil Aeronautics Board and from 1947 he worked as director of safety for several organizations including NASA. He retired in 1972.

Born in New York City, Lederer was an aeronautical engineer from 1929 to 1940. He also wrote numerous books and articles on aviation and space safety.
