Lee, David M(orris) (1931– )

US physicist. A researcher and professor at Cornell University from 1959, he made a major contribution to condensed matter and low-temperature physics and he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1996 for his pioneering investigation of solid and superfluid phases of helium. Lee was born in Rye, New York.
