Strasberg, Lee (1901–1982)US actor and artistic director of the Actors Studio from 1948. He developed Method acting from Stanislavsky's system; pupils have included Marlon Brando, Paul Newman, Julie Harris, Kim Hunter, Geraldine Page, Al Pacino, and Robert De Niro.
