Legrenzi, Giovanni (1626–1690)

Italian composer. He was organist at Bergamo from 1645, then maestro di cappella at Ferrara 1656–65. In 1672 he became director of the Conservatorio dei Mendicanti in Venice and in 1685 maestro di cappella of St Mark's there.

Achille in Sciro (1663), Eteocle e Polinice (1675), La divisione del mondo, Germanico sul Reno (1676), Totila, I due Cesari (1683), Il giustino, Pertinace (1684), and about ten others.
