Leigh, Vivien (1913–1967)

Indian-born British actor Vivien Leigh as she appeared in the classic film Gone With the Wind (1939) in the role of Scarlett O'Hara. The film won ten Academy Awards. This promotional studio picture makes Vivien Leigh look much younger than her actual 26 years. Her lead man, Clark Gable (who played Rhett Butler), was 38 years old at the time.

Indian-born English actor. She won Academy Awards for her performances as Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With the Wind (1939) and as Blanche du Bois in A Streetcar Named Desire (1951). She was married to Laurence Olivier 1940–60, and starred with him in the play Antony and Cleopatra (1951).

Leigh appeared on the stage in London and New York. Her other films include Lady Hamilton (1941), Anna Karenina (1948), and Ship of Fools (1965).
