Leiston

Town in Suffolk, England, 34 km/21 mi southwest of Lowestoft; population (2001) 5,360. Industries are engineering, canning, and the manufacture of industrial safety equipment. There is a nuclear power station at Sizewell on the coast. The ruins of St Mary's Abbey date from the 12th century.
