Leisure City

Community in southeastern Florida, 5 km/3 mi northeast of Homestead; population (1990) 19,400. It is just west of the former Homestead Air Force Base.

Damage from Hurricane Andrew in August 1992 and the closure of the base in 1993 posed serious problems for Leisure City in the 1990s.
