Lemnos

Greek island in the north of the Aegean Sea; area 476 sq km/184 sq mi; population (2001) 18,100. Towns include Kastron and Mudros. The island is of volcanic origin, rising to 430 m/1,411 ft. Industries include mulberries and other fruit, tobacco, and sheep.
