Leochares

Greek sculptor, a pupil of Scopas, with whom he worked on the Mausoleum. With Lysippus he executed a group in bronze representing Alexander the Great at a lion hunt. All his works are lost, but the statuette Ganymede Carried Away by an Eagle, now in the Vatican, is probably a copy of his work.

He also made busts of Alexander, statues of Zeus, Ares, and the family of Philip II of Macedon.
